Bill Burke's Belly Tank @ Bonneville 2009

Hugh sent me this note weeks ago, in fact it was before the 4thof July:

I was just looking at the fiberglass car site posts. Geoff Hacker is on his way to Detroit to visit some glass car people. He is the guy that found the unfinished 'tank' and is building it into a replica of Bill Burke's 1946 V8 60hp car. Geoff plans on having it finished in 5 weeks for Bonneville 2009. He is on the road headed your way now.

Here is a Youtube posting on the belly tanker with THE most annoying TV reporterin the world! He don't know jack about cars, but keeps running his big mouth anyway! What as arsehole, but the footage of the car is worthwhile.

Sad to report the loss of Barry Bryant in a hard crash at the top end of his run. The Bryant family have been HUGE supporters of Land Speed Racing for over 3 decades.

The car was rebuilt in the late 90's after a crash. Over the last decade, the car had proven to be very reliable & handled well at high speeds, setting several records along the way.
