Toyota Pruis Recall http://www.comcast.net/articles/finance ... loor.Mats/
The PR wonks @ Toyota are trying to get folks to believe that loose floor mats are behind all 102 of the cases of unintended acceleration that have been reported on their vehicles. Right. That BS didn't work for Audi 20 years ago, so do they really think that the American public is that dumb today??
Apparently, our beauracrats are! Sheesh!
Here's a Jalopnik article on unintended acceleration: http://jalopnik.com/5230917/toyota-priu ... celeration
BTW, if you read any of the forums on these POS, there have been 5 previous recalls on these cars, so #6 may not be the last!!! (2004,05,06,06,07) NHTSA recently declined to recall these heaps for early headlight failures. It appears that they are avoiding the other major issue of total vehicle shut-downs (requires dealer re-boot) that have plagued Prius owners.
Now THAT'S Toyota quality!
